From a New U.S Resident, to a Student, to a Wife, to a Mother and New Business Owner
I was born in the Dominican Republic and lived there until I had just turned 13, in July of 2001. Moving to a new country, with a new language wasn't very easy. But hey! As a child, you don't get much choice in the matter.
Then, 9/11 happened and as scary as it was not understating what everyone was saying, it was scarier to realize what had occurred once I got home and turned the Spanish TV on.
High school graduation came and went in 2005. Nearly 17 and moving to Ohio to start college was the next step. January 2009 arrived, I was all done with college, just waiting until March for graduation. College years were great, internships, new life-long friends, love and heartbreaks, by far my favorite part was studying abroad in Italy in the summer of 2007.
Graduating in 2009 was not the best time. Not many jobs available for us college grads. We all know the stories. So, I started a job in a medical laboratory that only required a HS diploma instead of continuing my job as a hostess in Applebee's.
There is where I met my husband! :) We started dating in 2010 and were married in May of 2015. We honeymooned in my native country in the island of La Española.
Baby W. arrived March 2016. We were blessed with our son! He is the light of our eyes. And the reason why I chose to stay home each day. No longer being a Lab Tech but a momma, wife and entrepreneur.
I have embarked on this adventure not alone but with all of the support from the most supportive husband in the world. "Whatever makes you happy" he tells me. And that is all the motivation I need to keep going so I can stay home with baby W. instead of clocking in for a paycheck.
Let's see what all we can reach when try to reach for the stars.
xoxo
